It is hard to come across a book that I can literally not put down every 2 pages. The only book I've gotten through at this fast of a pace was Chelsea Handler's Horizontal Life Memoirs book. This is just like that, with more literotica (book porn).
This book is also very key in what most of this blog is about. Besides the obvious sexness, Amy Lee explores the realms of what it is to be a girl with a one-track-mind. I, myself, if anyone, can correlate with this book 100%, considering how up & down my hormonal life is. Here's a good excerpt that tickled me:
The Girl's Guide to F***-Buddies: Definitions
1. A f***-buddy is someone with whom you are sexually involved, but have no romantic or emotional strings attached. They are NOT a friend that you f***; although they might be someone you like and respect, the f***-buddy relationship is purely sexual.
2. Occasionally a productive one-night stand can lead into a series of regular one-night stands. These then develop into an occasional sexual relationship.
3. Shagging someone with no expectations of commitment or co-dependency does not have to mean a one-off: it can also be pleasurable to have multiple sexual experiences with them over a period of time.

I'm still in the middle of this, but I'm giving it a good 9 fingers up. -1 because she makes me feel like a boring McDrySpell. I've never in my life heard of anyone even capable of being this horny, besides my pal Olive (hey Olive). When I'm this age, I hope to have as many memoirs and rants as this lady here. I've never heard of this book before. I'm kinda curious now. I am just like you, I usually stop reading a book halfway thru. i don't know why I do that. I blame my ADD-ness. Tell me more about the book...it's so interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe book is personally based on the author (with a one-track-mind, sex that is) going through months of her life, diary style. It's like reading into her diary, pretty much (wish I could do that with everyone!). Her name isn't even Abby Lee, she changed it upon writing the book to hide her identity (because it is so personal), after a company approached her on her blog to writing a book (her blog is also very popular...girlwithaonetrackmind.blogspot.com). Anyways, since the book came out, she has released another book, full identity and everything. Pretty neat-o, considering her whole sex life is out there for the world to read and relate to. I commend her brave sexy soul.
